In der Junimitte vom 17. bis 20.06. sollte wie in jedem Jahr das beliebte, belgische Hard’n Heavy-Festival – das Graspop Metal Meeting 2021 – an den Start gehen. Dafür wollten knapp 155.000 Musikfans aus der ganzen Welt in die kleine Stadt Dessel pilgern, nachdem leider bereits die Ausgabe 2020 aufgrund der Auswirkungen rund um das Coronavirus (COVID-19) abgesagt werden musste.
Nun ist es leider traurige Gewissheit – die weltweite Lage in Bezug auf das Pandemie-Geschehen hat sich noch immer nicht beruhigt, im Gegenteil. Der Festivalsommer 2021 wird voraussichtlich erneut ins Wasser fallen … Schweren Herzens haben sich daher die Veranstalter des beliebten Open-Air Events mit einem Statement und der offiziellen Absage vom Graspop Metal Meeting 2021 gemeldet.
Für die aktuelle Ausgabe waren bereits Künstler wie Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, Judas Priest, Faith No More, Airbourne, Deftones, Disturbed, KoRn, Mercyful Fate, The Offspring, Heaven Shall Burn, Paradise Lost, Dimmu Borgir und viele weitere gebucht. Einen Termin zum Nachholen der aktuellen Festivalausgabe wird es leider nicht geben, erst im kommenden Jahr geht das Graspop Metal Meeting wieder an den Start und zwar vom 16. bis 19. Juni 2022 und dabei sein werden Judas Priest!

Alle, die für das Graspop Metal Meeting 2020/2021 ein Ticket vorab gekauft hatten, eure Tickets für die nächste Ausgabe behalten ihre Gültigkeit. Wie das genau von statten geht, erklären euch die Veranstalter ausführlich auf der Graspop-Website.

Graspop 2021 – Offizielles Veranstalter-Statement
We must announce that the 25th edition of Graspop Metal Meeting will not take place this year, and will now be hosted from 16 to 19 June 2022.
We would love nothing more than to welcome metalheads from all across the globe to Dessel this June but unfortunately that won’t be possible. The safety of visitors, crew and artists is always our primary concern. And we look forward to bringing GMM back better and stronger than ever in 2022! We will do our utmost to roll over as many bands as possible from the GMM2021 line-up to our 2022 edition. The full line-up will be announced at a later time.
Ticket holders will be contacted by Ticketmaster shortly. More details will follow as soon as they become available. All purchased tickets for GMM2021 will roll over to GMM2022. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all you fans out there who rolled over their ticket(s) from 2020 to 2021! Your unwavering loyalty and incredible support in these times are what keeps us going. We’ll get through this together and we hope you’ll join us in 2022.
We are still hoping to give you a taste of the GMM atmosphere in 2021 – and will share more details once we have clarity on the form this concept will be able to take on as the year progresses.
